๐Ÿš€ This Week's Amazon Hack: Stop Drowning in Deals

Today's hack is going to stretch your mind. But in a good way. As a brand owner, it's far too easy to get complacent. And I don't think you are doing it on purpose. It just kind of "happens."

Think about it. If every think tank is telling you to do deals on Amazon and all your competitors are doing it, it's easy to feel pressure to follow suit. In fact, you might feel like you HAVE to do it to survive!

The truth is that you don't have to live in a perpetual state of FOMO.

A dirty little secret is that success on Amazon is not about sales volume alone.

When my clients follow my advice on this next hack, guess what happens?

OK, let's dig in.

As you know, I'm a HUGE promoter of raising prices and continuing to raise them over time. The big BUT is that it takes WORK. And few are willing to do what I recommend.

Amazon used to be a place where price was everything. Since Covid, Amazon has turned into DTC lite. What I mean by that is that your brand story matters more than ever before. Americans are sick of crappy XYZ Chinese brands and crave something more meaningful. Something lux.

So, what's the hack?

It's all about how you present the value of your brand!

Look at any elite brand like Pure Encapsulations on Amazon, and you'll see why. These brands do not compete on price. They compete on VALUE. And this is where the magic happens.

Their fish oil bottle is $76 when the average competitor is priced at $20. Yet, they sell millions in product every month. They have achieved this because of insanely strict testing standards, purity, and branding. In other words, they built up their brand to be a Ferrari. They ever settled for being the Ford. This was obviously a very long road for them, but it prints and will forever print.

Some examples:

Creatine Brand: Instead of slamming lightning deals, raise prices by 10% and start promoting your lab results showing purity.

Dog Food Brand: Instead of competing on price, price at a premium and slam home the message that you have created human-grade dog food that is backed by vets.

Leather Wallet Brand: Instead of fighting the ads battle, go steep on your price while promoting your brand as an "experience" and not just another wallet.

This week, I want you to pick one of your top-selling products and ask yourself if you are leveraging the right things on your listing. Do your images look like everyone else's? Where is your value presented?

The next question you need to ask is, "Do I have enough to deserve a higher price point?" If not, you know you have some work to do. ๐Ÿซก
