And honestly, it's pretty impressive. In fact, it's one of the few announcements from the Accelerate conference that actually mattered. You can find it by going to Reports, Profit Analytics, then Selling Economics and fees. What's really cool about this new tool is that it allows you to see the profit at the SKU, ASIN, and Parent-ASIN levels. In terms of data, it's using your sales, returns, FBA and storage fees, advertising costs, and COGS data to do the calculation. And it's a big ask. Amazon needs your COGS info to do it. Totally up to you if you use this or a third-party software solution. I think this will be VERY popular for bootstrapped brands looking to reduce costs. Some highlights: -Besides COGS, you can even input costs like social media influencer costs and 3PL storage fees. -I love that it's as granular as you want or as high-level as you want. You can even create product groups. -Data rolls in 1-2 days delayed, so I would recommend you check this data once or twice a week. -Allows you to see profit per custom time period. This is so awesome because tracking this has been an absolute bear in the past. Sudden drop? Investigate easily. Super cool. -There's a "testing" module where you can model various scenarios like SPD vs LTL shipments. Tons of cool forecasting you can do here, and then make the best decision possible for your business. Now, the nightmare... This is where the cool stuff ends and the nightmare starts. Amazon already has your customer data. What do they not have? Your off-Amazon data. A slick new profit tracking tool is what they are offering in exchange for a goldmine of information. Amazon will most likely use this data to develop new private-label brands and compete with you more easily. It's a scary reality. Choose wisely. This time it's for your business customers. These are companies ranging from construction contractors to small hotels to massage parlors. They need supplies and need them often! If you offer them a 3% discount or higher, your multi-unit orders will qualify for reduced per-unit fulfillment fees. This update applies to small, standard, and large standard-size tiers. FBA discounts range from $0.37 to $1.17 per unit. If you have never bothered to turn business pricing on, do it today. Trust me, you have been missing out. Here is some quick napkin math: -Base price: $20 -Business discount (3%): -$0.60 → new price = $19.40 -Order size: 2 units, Large Standard (~1.1 lbs) -Standard FBA fee: $4.99 per unit -FBA fee discount: -$1.20 per unit → new fee = $3.80 As you can see, the 3% discount becomes irrelevant thanks to the FBA discount! The $1.20 fee reduction more than offsets the $0.60 price drop. This update rewards sellers who drive VOLUME and helps Amazon reduce inefficiencies within its FBA network. Another hack. If you have a certification like veteran-owned or minority-owned, you will get a massive boost in sales. Many businesses are required to buy from brands with these certifications.
