🚀 This Week's Amazon Hack: An Epic Case Study

When a brand owner comes to me and tells me that they feel like they have plateaued on Amazon, I smile. And it's not a cocky smile. I'm smiling because they have no idea how much potential is truly right in front of them.

To get them over $1 million a month on Amazon, I advised them to take some actionable steps.

💡 They rebranded.

I'm talking packaging, Founder's Story, listing pictures, A+ content, epic video, and a Brand Store optimized for conversion. I encouraged them to "break the rules" with their hero images, ditch the text on their A+ content, and go with wide-screen images only. They went from bland to sexy overnight. Also, they started to leverage Amazon Posts to bump up free traffic to their listings. Yes, Amazon Posts drives up your organic traffic. Enjoy this hack while it's still free!

💡 They stopped sleeping on coupons.

I pitched them on the idea of high-purchase-intent coupon targeting and a veil was lifted from their eyes. Not only did this increase their AOV but it increased their perceived brand authority. This translates to stronger sales. it still boggles my mind how many brands neglect to use coupons. Let me just say this. I have never once seen a brand start using coupons and stop. The CVR boost alone is invaluable. The green label on search results is criminally underrated.

💡 They started leveraging virtual bundles.

They were under the incorrect assumption that they weren't worth their time. Oh how wrong they were! Once all their bundles were designed and organized correctly, they saw their AOV go through the roof and overall revenue explode. It's a practical way to showcase other catalog items that they otherwise would never even know existed.

💡 They finally made the plunge into the B2B space.

Instead of single customers, now many of their customers include construction sites, hotels, and convention centers. I cannot stress this enough. If your product makes sense for selling bulk, it's time to explore this untapped opportunity. Also, thanks to segmentation and other business analytics tools, it's easier than ever to know what's working from a marketing standpoint.

💡 They pivoted from in-house PPC management to hiring one of the top agencies in the space.

Within weeks, ACOS went down and revenue exploded. It literally felt like the foot was lifted from the brake and the gas pedal was slammed down. Sometimes, the solution is as easy as hiring the right experts and letting the money printer go brrrrrrr.

The key?

Following the data and kicking personal pride to the curb. I love these types of consulting stories. In a world where the news leans negative, it's time to start sharing more wins. May this inspire you to take bold action this Q4 and leave your competitors in the dust.

There's plenty of time to work on these things before Black Friday. If there's one area to focus on, it's definitely your images. Even if you only have time to optimize your hero image and A+ content, do it.


🔥 Hot Amazon Seller News: Amazon Haul Has Arrived

Temu, move over because the 1,000-pound gorilla has entered the room. It was nice knowing you!

So, originally, Amazon was going to call it the Low-Cost Store but that name kind of sucked.

It's been rebranded to "Amazon Haul." Much better!

You can only access it on mobile right now. I have some screenshots below. It actually looks pretty nice!

Literally, everything is under $20 and unbranded. If your order is over $25, you get free shipping. If not, it's $3.99 per order.

Chinese factories will be able to sign up as long as they comply with insanely low-cost caps:

Sofas ≤$20
‍Golf clubs ≤$16
Guitars ≤$13
Bedding sets ≤$9
Jewelry ≤$8

That's not a typo. Yes, you will be able to buy a soft for under $20!

Items will take up to 11 days to get to the Amazon customer.

And guess what? No returns! Customers will be able to get an instant refund.

This is going to negatively impact 3P sellers in a big way. If you sell cheap products, this means major pain. It's going to be a hard sell to convince people to buy a product at $20 with a logo if they can get the same exact product from Amazon for $1 without a logo. A large portion of America could care less about logos.

Maybe I'm being too paranoid but I'm VERY worried about the impact on YOU and my clients. Like always, time will tell. Who knows, maybe it'll be a flop?
