🚀 This Week's Amazon Hack: An Exciting Announcement

Today's hack is kind of a hack and kind of not. It relates to what I preach about on a consistent basis. Diversification!

If you have been reading Amazon Insiders, you already know that expanding off-Amazon must be a top priority for your brand.

And guess what? It's not TikTok. Well, it's not my first pick, that is. I'm a huge believer in chasing revenue with the least amount of effort possible. TikTok is HARD. TikTok changes almost daily. And now, it's harder than ever for any of your organic stuff to be seen by the masses. In many ways, TikTok has copied Amazon and has become a pay-to-play platform. But that's just hurdle number 1. The second hurdle is understanding virality and how to crack their algorithm. Most brands hire an agency and leave it to them. That's actually pretty smart.

So, what is my top pick? Shopify? Nope. Meta ads? Too expensive. Wayfair? You're funny.

Walmart! Always has and always will be.

The WHY behind this answer is the fact that Walmart is a sleeping giant. They are just ten years behind Amazon and have over 4,000 physical retail locations and over 400 fulfillment centers across the USA.

They poached many of the OG Amazon FBA executives, and they are now leveraging both robotics and drones. In fact, drone delivery is quite common in Dallas already. Amazon? Nowhere to be seen.

Here's the fact. You're EARLY. And that's freaking exciting.

🔥 Hot Amazon Seller News: Amazon Raises Fees AGAIN

Shocked, I tell you! Amazon raised its seller fees again, but this time it's not your FBA fees. It's your coupon fees.

I know, their greed knows no bounds, but it's their arena, and we are simply humble participants.

It's time to adapt or die.

Amazon's old coupon fee system was ultra simple. $0.60 per redemption. Easy enough.

Now? A little more complicated and WAY more expensive.

Now there is a $5 upfront fee AND a 2.5% fee of each coupon sale.

No, you don't need glasses. You read that right.

Some napkin math. Let's say you run a coupon that generates $10,000 in sales.

Your fee will now be: $255 ($5 + $250 variable fee)

Expect more of this from Amazon. They won't stop this behavior until they truly feel threatened by a competitor.

As always, my advice is to test, test, then test some more. Whether or not a coupon is worthwhile will depend on your product and ROI metrics. You must be smart and not run these blindly anymore.
