Yes, you heard that right. I'm seeing this myself on regular searches on Amazon and now many of my clients and readers are seeing Amazon do this with their listings. And no, you can't buy these placements yet because Amazon is AB testing their performance. You can see the writing on the wall, though. Paid ads showing up in Rufus will be your new reality. Don't believe me? Go on your phone and search "standing desk." Open the first hit up (typically, it's the VIVO brand) and bring up Rufus. You will most likely see a sneaky little "sponsored" question that Amazon is testing for the brand. There's not much you can do right now except get your potential ads ready. And they look like they will be questions that include your brand name. I would organize these now so you secure yourself priority ad space when Amazon inevitably launches this. My gut feel is that this will come out after Prime Day. The other task here is to simply optimize for Rufus. That means auditing your title, bullet points, A+ content, data in your images, Storefront, and your Amazon posts. If you aren't optimizing for common Rufus questions, you are already losing and leaving an untold amount of money on the table. And please don't fall for the gurus who charge boatloads to get you "optimized." This is a really easy task and kind of common sense. All you need to do is research common questions that are asked about your product and make sure this data is spread across your listing so Rufus can scrape it correctly and quickly.
