I've heard from many of you, and the numbers are staggering. The news headline that Prime Day sales plummeted 41% on day 1 had everyone in a panicked frenzy, but now that the numbers rolled in for all 4 days, everyone is smiling from ear to ear. This is exactly what I predicted. In 2024, Prime Day was a two-day event. You can't expect the same sales on day 1 of a four-day event. It's simple math. OK, now that we have that out of the way, what's next? Great question! So, you know me and the fact that I like to keep things as simple as possible. THE MAIN GOAL is to keep your ranking high over the next four weeks. They should be at pre-Prime Day or higher. Resist the urge to kill off keywords simply because ACoS is through the roof. This is a catastrophic mistake. You need to protect your territory at all costs and not let up. One of the best ways to do this is through retargeting. During Prime Day, there were millions of customers that never checked out. This is when you hook them. The buying frenzy is over, and they are still on the fence. Yes, some housekeeping. If you took my advice and updated your images and storefront for Prime Day, it's time to clean those up and get everything back to normal. STEP 2 is to set your sights on Q4 and start inventory planning now. Also, it's CRITICAL to ensure you don't run out of stock over the next four weeks. Not only does this disrupt your ability to sell, but it also destroys your BSR. Avoid this at all costs. Do a quick audit of your account, and don't forget to account for exterior factors like Walmart and DTC orders if you are using your FBA inventory for those. Let's summarize. 1- Maintain your ranking. 2- Retarget customers (both new and existing). 3- Update inventory forecasts. Whatever you do, don't panic when you see bleeding in your PPC campaigns. This happens every year, and the best course of action is to stay the course and ride it out.
