πŸš€ This Week's Amazon Hack: What's In? What's Out?

  • Amazon Posts - I like free things and 2024 free will be huge because everyone will be looking for creative ways to boost traffic while reducing expenses. By utilizing this FREE tool, you can expect to see a 10%+ boost in organic search traffic. They're easy to create so go nuts, post once per day if you can! They appear in product listings, related post feeds, and category feeds. Start creating!
  • Social Media Influencers - At this point, launching without them is like shooting yourself in the foot. Definitely try to avoid that. Make it a goal to have 10+ influencers lined up to promote your Amazon listings for your launches in 2024.
  • A/B Testing - One of the top checklist items for 2024 is A/B testing images. Ask yourself when was the last time you A/B tested your hero images for your top sellers? Probably a while. Change that this year and boost your conversion rate in a dramatic way.
  • Walmart Expansion - While everyone is getting distracted by TikTok right now, don't follow the herd. Instead, start building out your brand's presence on Walmart. They are where Amazon was just 10 years ago. Establish yourself there today and you'll be reigning for years to come.
  • Video Ads - Video ads have an insanely low CPC and there's one main reason for that: very few brand owners are going to invest in video production to create ads! I love utilizing growth strategies when others are asleep at the wheel. This is one of them.

OUT

  • Bloated SAAS Subscriptions - 2024 is the year of simplicity. Perform an audit and see if you are any overlap with your software subscriptions. I guarantee you do. Check for ways you can unify tasks under one singular software program. One example is Jungle Scout which does it all in terms of listing optimization. You don't need a million tools to ace your SEO on Amazon!
  • TikTok - Many feel like the app has peaked and I tend to agree. User growth is trending down and the average user is hating that all their favorite influencers just post ads now instead of unique content. Shops might just be the dreaded Achilles heel for TikTok. Invest here ONLY if you have maxed out other avenues like Instagram and Walmart.
  • Gaming The System - Yes, I know, Chinese sellers get away with it. It's super frustrating. The burden is simply much heavier for the American seller. You have one social security number and one IP address. Blow it and get suspended, it's over. Don't buy fake reviews. Don't manipulate your customers. Don't sell garbage. Don't mess with your FBA shipments. You get the gist.
  • Filing Reimbursement Claims Yourself - Stop it. Just stop it! You are no match for AI based tools like GETIDA. Don't even try. Hand this task over to the big boys and stop stressing about this task. With software, you find EVERYTHING! Every last unit damaged by Amazon at their warehouse. Every lost product. Even refunds that were improperly send out to customers. This is where AI shines. Embrace it in 2024.
  • Agencies With Long Term Contracts - I refuse to do this with my consulting clients and I always encourage people to seek out agencies that lean on the side of flexibility. A prime example is within the social media ad management space. Agreeing to a 12 month contract is a death sentence. Avoid this like the plague! Find month to month service providers and NEVER, I repeat, NEVER work with any agency that requires a portion of your revenue.

In some not-do-great news, Amazon is showing their cards once again and starting to woo Chinese sellers back to their platform in a pretty profound way.

They're opening an "innovation center" in China to provide access to Amazon's supply chain, warehousing and distribution resources.

We must remember, Amazon does not care about the American seller. They care about the almighty dollar. This is why diversification is so important. Relying on Amazon will never be a winning strategy. Plan accordingly.
